The annual Swiss Music Night is back again this year for its 7th edition with Swiss composer Fabian Müller and cellist Pi-Chin Chien as artistic direction. The Swiss Music Night is a unique platform with the aim of cultivating musical friendship between Switzerland and Taiwan.

This year’s program will be dedicated to an extraordinary musician, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, who is widely considered one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century. Menuhin had a special connection with Switzerland. After moving to Gstaad in 1957, he founded the Menuhin Festival Gstaad as well as the International Menuhin Music Academy.

Chamber music will be the focus of the evening with performances from Ming-Feng Hsin, violinist and also a protégé of Yehudi Menuhin, Pi-Chin Chien, cellist as well as a sought-after, internationally active soloist and chamber musician, and Hsing-Chwen Hsin, considered one of the most esteemed pianists from Asia. The program will be filled with a great variety of pieces with solo, duo and trio performances.
In homage to Menuhin, 2 pieces written for Menuhin by Swiss composer Ernest Bloch will be performed. Also part of the program is “Tour de Suisse” – an enjoyable musical journey throughout Switzerland’s 4 language regions - by Fabian Müller and worth mentioning is that the piece will make its World Premiere.
