In order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the Federal Minister of Health announced on 13 June 2020 that the full lockdown is replaced with a partial curfew from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting on 14 June 2020. The decision also prevents the movement between the provinces, except for the health, security and public service personnel. Other restrictions include wearing masks and preventing religious and social gatherings.
The conditions imposed in this regard may vary between different provinces and areas. The Embassy of Switzerland in Jordan, accredited to Iraq, encourages all its citizens to inform themselves through official channels about the measures in place in their region.
On 6 June 2020, the Iraqi government announced that the flight suspension has been extended until further notice, as part of the nation's effort to slow the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
