"Youth employment is one of the most important challenges Kosovo is facing and therefore, with an investment of 7,2 million CHF, the Promoting Private Sector Employment (PPSE) project will continue supporting small and medium enterprises in Kosovo, focusing on the employment of youth and women", stated Etienne. Switzerland's overall contribution to strengthening economic development and employment amounts to 20 million CHF for the coming 4 years.

The Minister of Trade and Industry Bajram Hasani thanked the Government of Switzerland for this contribution and expressed his commitment to implement this agreement that targets employment, such an important priority for Kosovo.

With a duration of 4 years, PPSE will focus on enhancing the diversity of high quality products and services in the tourism and food processing sectors. Furthermore, it will specifically address the governance issues related to private sector development and women economic empowerment.

The Promoting Private Sector Employment project will be implemented by  Swisscontact in a consortium with Riinvest, a local development institute.
