Switzerland is committed to protecting the environment and to mitigating the impact of climate change in Kosovo. The Ambassador of Switzerland to Kosovo Thomas Kolly visited the District Heating Power Plant of Gjakova as well as the Waste Water Treatment Plants in both Peja and Gjakova. Thanks to Swiss support, so far, 30% of the citizens of Gjakova already benefit from lower heating costs thanks to a more efficient use of energy, whereas 60% of the citizens in both Peja and Gjakova have now better access to clean water thanks to improved sanitation, waste water treatment services.
