Be their angel this Christmas! 

The Swiss Embassy in the Philippines, in partnership with SM Supermalls and SPARK Philippines, is proud to present once again Angels for Angels, a Christmas Solidarity Action geared towards promoting women empowerment, livelihood, and children’s nutrition.

This year, Christmas angels, each made from different sustainable materials and crafted by women communities around the country will be sold in SEVEN SM Premier Malls and online.

The effort will support these communities and projects by World Vision focusing on children’s nutrition and education.

This project is also supported by Novateur Coffee Concepts Inc (Nespresso), Nature's Harvest Corporation (Lindt), Tetra Pak, CWC Interiors/Vitra, Cebu Landmasters, Olympia Violago Power.

We also would like to thank Philux, Paymaya, and Lazada for their support for the project.

Quezon City - Red Eco Bag Cloth

These Christmas angels were made by the Quezon City Female Jail Dormitory. 75 Persons Deprived of Libertys (PDLs) worked hand-in-hand to craft this angel using red eco bag cloth, black garter, cardboard, silver metallic foil, and gold glitters.

Taguig City - Water Hyacinth

Water Hyacinths, which are very abundant in Taguig City, were upcycled and conserved from waste to a Christmas treasure. The water hyacinth angels were crafted by the Progressive Ladies' League (PLL) a 500,000 member strong nongovernmental organization that promotes the rights and welfare of women through advocating sustainable livelihood programs and projects.

Tetra Pak - Tetra Pak Cartons

This Tetra Pak angel is made from PolyAl material extracted from recycled used beverage cartons . Cartons from Tetra Pak, a world leading food processing and packaging solutions company, are made up of 70% paperboard from responsibly-managed forests and other controlled sources.

Pasig City - Foil Pack and Insulation Material

Single mothers from Kababaihang Iisang Layuning Umunlad ang Sambayanan (KILUS), a Pasig based women's cooperative, are responsible for designing an angel made from upcycled foil packs and insulation materials. These materials are in line with the organization's goal of being advocates for waste management and other environmental programs.

Make sure to head to the 2L Atrium at SM Megamall to get this angel for only PHP 100. 

Cebu City - Used Rice/Flour Sacks

These unique angels were made by the Rise Above Foundation, whose goal is to improve the poor condition of the people in Cebu Province through provision of programs and services on education and training, health & hygiene, and creative livelihood opportunities in a community-based setting. The ornaments were made through the Rise Up program, which helps provide stable income to poverty-stricken mothers.

HABI, the Philippine Textile Council

HABI, the Philippine Textile Council has collaborated with a sewing group from Taguig to produce these Christmas Angels. These angels were upcycled from textile scraps and cut offs then made by weavers from Ilocos, Bicol, Zamboanga and Iloilo.

This angel was intricately crafted from upcycled Nespresso capsules - already a symbol of Swiss design and innovation. The Negrense Volunteers for Change (NVC), a foundation that aims to fight hunger and poverty by providing proper nutrition for children and sustainable livelihood opportunities, is responsible for producing this angel as part of their “Artisans of Hope” Livelihood Workshop in Bacolod City.
