Promoting Swiss Technologies with Russian Energy Companies

In the beginning of the year the Swiss Business Hub Russia has invited Swiss suppliers of the Energy sector to join Ambassador Rossier for a Mission to Moscow and Astrakhan. The goal was to assist Swiss companies in establishing long-term cooperation with key players in the important oil and gas sector in Russia. But since this year hardly any plans could be realized as initially planned, we had to be flexible and improvise. The complete cancellation of the event was no option and we decided to keep at least some of the elements of the program.

On the 27 of October we organized a video conference with Russia's largest oil company Rosneft. Ambassador Rossier lead a delegation of 6 Swiss companies supplying technologies relevant for oil and gas production. Two weeks later we had the opportunity to exchange with senior managment of LUKOIL in a hybrid online/offline format at the Embassy. 4 Swiss companies participated physically and 2 more via videoconference. Another meeting with the main private Russian gas company Novatek took place in late December 2020. Our aim is to bring Swiss technologies to Russia that will make the extraction of natural resources more energy efficient and ecologically safer.
