Hintergrund The formation of the new Somali Government in 2012 bought a new window of opportunity to end conflict and rebuild the state. Since the collapse of the state, this was the first concerted international consensus on a long-term state-building, peace and development agenda. It was this common undertaking that translated into the New Deal Compact for Somalia, which was signed in 2013. This engagement entailed the formation of an aid architecture to coordinate development aid. While progress was made during 2017 to strengthen the overall architecture and operate the system, early 2018, it transpired that the aid architecture was still dysfunctional and lacked strategic discourse. A new aid architecture is foreseen in the context of the new National Development Plan and should be developed in the coming 12 months.
Ziele A better managed, more capable, more strategic and more accountable Somali aid coordination and management function that supports state building priorities, consolidates linkages between the FGS and FMS, contributes to stability and responds to citizen needs
