Since Switzerland is part of the French-speaking world, the Trade Office of Swiss Industries has been supporting “la Semaine de la Francophonie” and its values for several years through financial contribution and by co-organizing side events with l ‘Alliance Française Taipei.

This year’s edition is no exception; our office took part in a series of activities that celebrated the diversity of the Francophone world and promoted the beauty of the French language.  

For instance, on the 17^thMarch, Deputy Director Bernhard Bienz was a juror at the finale of the singing contest “concours d’interprétation de chansons francophone” which was marked by talented Taiwanese singers.

The Festival of francophone films was another highlight with Deputy Foreign Minister from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, François Chih-Chung Wu who delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. Together with France and Canada, multiple francophone films were presented to the local public and among them was the Swiss movie “La Vanité” which was screened on the 21^stMarch.

Last but not least, was the “Soirée Gourmandise” organized on the 22^ndMarch along with the offices from France, Belgium and Canada. Swiss Raclette served by our office has left foodies with a memorable taste of the Swiss cuisine.
