Contexte

Even after 842 days of a brutal war, the overall Ukrainian health care system continues to function, but increasing costs, logistical hurdles, limited healthcare workforce capacities, and damaged infrastructure are making access to essential services all the more challenging for growing numbers of civilians.

The war has had a significant economic, social and poverty impact. Health sector needs are estimated at $15.1 billion to cover accumulated infrastructure damage and losses in the health sector, and to expand essential health services to the Ukrainian population. Physical rehabilitation and mental health needs and priorities have increased drastically following the large-scale military aggression against Ukraine.

Supporting activities that Ukraine will need to address in the ongoing emergency context, through contribution to Health Enhancement and Lifesaving project, will help to strengthen healthcare system resilience and to sustain effects of all Swiss supported health interventions.

Objectifs The overall project goal is to (i) restore and improve access to essential mental health and rehabilitation services, (ii) address urgent needs for health service, and (iii) provide financial protection in emergency context.
