Roberto Ruisi is an emerging British violinist studying at the Royal College of Music in London.

The Swiss Ambassador’s Award has been a chamber music award for more than two decades, bringing Swiss or Switzerland-based classical musicians to the United Kingdom. The Award winner is invited to tour the UK accompanied by the Ambassador. In the spirit of building bridges and fostering intercultural exchange, the Swiss Ambassador’s Award 2020 is for the first time presented to a British or British-trained musician or ensemble from one of the UK’s leading conservatoires.

Five outstanding finalists were selected by the eminent jury consisting of Dame Gwyneth Jones, Graham McKenzie, Adrian Müller, Louis Schwizgebel and Stephen Threlfall to attend the live auditions in February.

We thank all other finalists and their colleges/conservatoires for supporting the 2020 Award competition.

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, the concert tour forming part of the Award, which usually takes place in October, will be postponed to Spring 2021.
