Hintergrund | The socio-economic situation in Yemen has continued to deteriorate over the past year, owing to the ongoing conflict and pre-conflict vulnerabilities. The collapse of the Yemeni economy is one of the primary drivers of the country’s humanitarian catastrophe, while the massive scale of the international relief effort has had enormous macro- and microeconomic impacts on the country. However, there has so far been little consideration of and research on the multifaceted interrelation between the relief effort and economic dynamics in the country which this program will address. |
Ziele | This project seeks to improve the effectiveness of international aid delivery through applying an economic lens and amplifying Yemeni voices, including by creating platforms of exchange between international and local stakeholders and by strengthening the institutional capacity of the SCSS. |
