The RésEAU is the main mechanism for knowledge management on water in SDC. In the International Development Cooperation the generation, organization, sharing and application of knowledge is crucial to be effective in promoting relevant development results. The 250 network members share information and knowledge, learn from each other and have access to the latest news, trends and knowledge in the water sector; regional banks, multilateral organisations as well as from academia and private sector.

Hintergrund Water is a priority issue for SDC and thematic networks are the main instruments for ensuring knowledge management within SDC.
Ziele SDC-financed Development Interventions in the water sector translate into relevant and positive economic, social and environmental benefits which are guided by well-trained, connected water specialists who have access to new, innovative, and state-of-the-art approaches and solutions.
Zielgruppen Members of the network, ca. 250 persons working in SDC and partner organisations
Expanding membership planned to include Swiss NGO with institutional SDC funding, SECO and federal institutes
And relevant stakeholders (e.g “bridge builders”and actors from outside with influence/ expertise of a specific region)
Mittelfristige Wirkungen

Outcome 1: SDC and partner staff apply up-to-date knowledge in their water-related work and are connected and exchange among each other

Outcome 2: The SDC water profile is strengthened, coherent and trend-setting

Outcome 3: The impact of SDC’s water-related interventions is monitored

Resultate

Erwartete Resultate:  

  • F2f meetings are more efficient and reflect balanced global and regional perspectives
  • Regional Sub-networks are operational and strengthening the regional water profile of SDC
  • Communication is adequate using user-friendly technology to facilitate communication and collaboration
  • SDC’s water position is strengthened and coherent with regular inputs from the RésEAU members
  • RésEAU members are knowledgeable about new sector trends/innovations
  • The impact of SDC’s water related interventions is monitored and contribute to identify success stories, experiences and failures


Resultate von früheren Phasen:   Since 2009 (launch), the network’s intensity has been increasing with annual global f2f meetings, regional Sub-RésEAU activities and the strengthening of its communication and collaboration tools (Newsletters, the Shareweb and regular thematic e-discussions). A full-fledged core group, Res’eau steering, was formalized in 2016.
