1. Generating evidence: The new monitoring. Timely and enhanced evidence on the uptake and use of the effectiveness principles at the country level
2. Driving informed policy dialogue & action: country dialogues and strategic partnerships. based on evidence.
3. Fostering political awareness, behaviour change & uptake. Targeted advocacy and outreach.

Risultati principali attesi:  

• 4th Monitoring Round on DE is completed successfully and evidence for further policy dialogue is generated
• Development effectiveness agenda is anchored in the outcome document of FfD4 in 2025
• A high-level meeting on DE is held in 2026
• Keep DE high on the international agenda as a core issue of development policy.
• A new work programme from 2027 up to 2030 and beyond is developed

Risultati fasi precedenti:  

• 59 countries are participating in the current monitoring round (35 in 2018). 29 countries are priority countries for Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC/SECO).
• Switzerland co-chaired GPEDC 2019-2022. The Development Effectiveness Summit (High Level Meeting) was held in Geneva in 2022. The Summit, attended by 130 countries, civil society and private sector representatives, allowed Switzerland to showcase its engagement for development effectiveness.
• The financial support to and direct collaboration with the Joint Support Team at UNDP in New York as well as at OECD in Paris have contributed to the success the co-chairmanship and the Summit 2022
• In 2022 Sweden took over as co-chair, Switzerland remained as a member of the GPEDC steering committee.
• Results from the GPEDC monitoring directly inform the indicators on SDG targets: 5.c, 17.15 and 17.16
