Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter attends meeting of the finance ministers of the German-speaking countries

On 13 August 2024, Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter attended the meeting of the finance ministers of the German-speaking countries in Lochau, Austria. The discussions centred on strengthening competitiveness and financial policy aspects of the climate transition.

In addition to Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter, Christian Lindner (Germany), Magnus Brunner (Austria), Daniel Risch (Liechtenstein) and Gilles Roth (Luxembourg) took part in the meeting in Lochau near Bregenz, Austria.

The ministers discussed ways to strengthen competitiveness and exchanged views on budgetary policy issues in light of geopolitical developments, financial market regulation and international tax policy, among other things. As a result of these discussions, they adopted the declaration "Bodenseer Erklärung zur Stärkung der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit".

Another topic addressed was the role of finance ministers in connection with the climate transition. The focus here was on financing the energy transition.
