Background | Although Bolivia has improved poverty rates in general, the situation in rural areas clearly shows that there are still disparities compared to cities. The gap between moderate poverty in rural areas (55%) and urban areas (31%) is evident. In a proportion of 8 per 100 inhabitants, the Rural Household Production Units provide 37% of the country's food, cultivating in conditions of low productivity and constant changes and threats as a consequence of climate change. |
Objectives | Improve the living conditions of men and women who work in agricultural activities in rural areas, helping to reduce their poverty situation by increasing their income, access to opportunities and development of capacities. |
Target groups |
Men and women who carry out agricultural, livestock or other activities (with an emphasis on women and youth), in producer families, particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change and food insecurity, located in the Altiplano and Inter-Andean Valleys. |
