On November 23d, 2020, as part of celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Albania, Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis visited Albania where he met with the country's President, Prime Minister, and Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs. He also visited Shijak to see Swiss contribution to the recovery efforts following the 2019 earthquake.
