The FDFA advises against all travel to Sudan.

The security situation is extremely unstable. The Swiss Embassy in Khartoum is temporarily closed. Thus, Switzerland has only limited or no possibilities to help in emergencies or to assist in leaving the country.

International airlines have suspended their flights to and from Sudan since the outbreak of fighting. The FDFA recommends that Swiss nationals in Sudan inform themselves on site about local transport options if they wish to leave the country and if this appears possible and safe. Otherwise, it is recommended to stay in a safe place. Follow the instructions of the local authorities and take the necessary precautions. The decision to leave the country is an individual one. Stay in contact with your relatives.

Swiss nationals can contact the FDFA Helpline.
