The Romanian scientists have the possibility to participate in research activities in Swiss Universities and Research Institutes, by accessing the research fellowships made available by the Swiss Romanian Cooperation Programme (SRCP) through the Scholarship Fund.
On 5th August 2011 the Thematic Fund Agreement for the Scholarship Fund (Sciex) was signed between Switzerland and Romania.
Eight million CHF were made available for Romanian scientists for participating in research fellowships of 6 to 24 months, or to short term research visits of 5 days in Switzerland. The Fund is managed by the Rectors’ Conference of Swiss Universities (CRUS) acting as the Swiss Intermediate Body (SIB). The Romanian National Research Council (CNCS) – Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation (UEFISCDI) is in charge with Scholarship Funds’ coordination in Romania.
Two years have been past now since Sciex Programme started and Romania has already participated to 4 calls. A last call to which Romania will participate within the Programme will be held next year. In total, 83 fellowships were awarded to Romanian researchers, so far. For more details please go to the SCIEX and UEFISCDI sites.
