Waste Water Treatment Plant in Thala and Feriana

This project aims at implementing wastewater infrastructure in the cities of Thala (15'000 inhabitants) and Fériana (27'000 inhabitants) in the Governorate of Kasserine, Tunisia. The infrastructure includes the financing of the treatment plants, the extension of the wastewater networks and pumping stations for both cities.


Housing Microfinance Project

The living standard for most low-income households in Kyrgyzstan is low. The SECO-financed Kyrgyz Housing Microfinance Project applies an innovative approach of how low-income residents can themselves on a "do-it-yourself" basis improve their homes. So-called Housing Microfinance Loans for these home improvements will be provided by banks or microfinance institutions.


Financial Sector Strengthening Indonesia, Phase I

With this project SECO's Macroeconomic Support Division and its Private sector development Division jointly support a Financial Sector Strengthening project managed by the World Bank in Indonesia. Financing will be expected to be split as follows: 3 million USD financing from Macroeconomic Support and 1.5 million USD from Private Sector Development. The Trust is expected to run from 2012 through 2017. The contribution will be made in USD.


Accounting Training Semarang, Indonesia, Phase II

Bilateral support to the introduction of accrual accounting across Indonesia at local level (2nd phase). Due to high demand, this new phase adds another training center in Bandar Lampung.


Financial Sector Reform and Strengthening, Phase III

The Financial Sector Reform and Strengthening Initiative (FIRST) is a multidonor grant facility that funds technical assistance to promote financial sector development in low and middle-income countries. The catalytic window provides support in the areas of financial sector regulation and supervision, market development and responsible finance.


WTO Policy Advise and Capacity Transfer

Tajikistan has been a member of WTO since March 2013. It is important that Tajikistan benefits from the new trade relations established with other WTO Members. Through component I of the Trade Cooperation Program (TCP) SECO supported Tajikistan's WTO accession process and the implementation of WTO rules.


Strengthening Decentralized Trade Support Services for Small/Medium Enterprises

The program will sttrengthen decentralized trade support services for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) through strengthening the service capacities of trade promotion organisations and trade support institutions. the program will work at provinicial level (North, Center, South) and be executed nationally by Vietrade.

Emission Reduction in Cities - Solid Waste Management IND

Cities are important producers of greenhouse gases and at the same time highly affected by the impact of climate change, e. g. by more frequent flooding events which lead amongst others to loss of property and a spread of diseases. Solid waste management is part of Indonesia's strategy to address climate change. The programme foresees to support investments in solid waste treatment in different Indonesian cities, which have climate impacts. Besides the investments, consulting services are foreseen to support city efforts to manage their solid waste in a sustainable way. As a complementary component, the Swiss research institute Eawag will carry out applied research to identify market opportunities for recycling of organic waste and will develop these technologies in a showcase pilot situation.


Bregalnica River Basin Management, North Macedonia

The project will: 1) provide technical assistance and know-how transfer for the establishment and organization of the River Basin Management Body and the River Basin Management Advisory Council 2) support the elaboration of a river basin management plan and 3) support small infrastructure projects in the amount of CHF 2,4 Mio.


Support of Mandates in the field of Tropical Forests, V

Through the mandate the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO is supported to implement its strategy on tropical forests. On one side Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation is following up independently on projects related to tropical forests and on the other hand the partner is advising SECO on all issues related to tropical forests including international policy dialogue.
