SSD: UNOCHA Hum. Fund SSHF 2025

In 2025, it is estimated that two thirds of the South Sudanese population require some sort of humanitarian assistance. The South Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SSHF) led by the UN Humanitarian Coordinator facilitates a coordinated, quick and agile humanitarian response to sudden-onset events. It also contributes to capacity strengthening of local aid responders. Through its contribution to the Fund, Switzerland helps to ensure that crisis-affected populations throughout the country receives principled and targeted assistance. 


Fighting diseases of poverty: Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi)

Neglected tropical diseases, affecting poor and marginalised populations in low- and middle-income countries, urgently need the development of new, life-saving, and affordable medicines. The Geneva-based Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative leads these efforts and provides access to innovative treatments. This work is in line with Swiss values of collaboration and innovation, and contributes to equitable access to quality medicines.


LEB OCHA Humanitarian Fund Phase III

 The humanitarian needs in Lebanon have increased as a result of large-scale  displacement and destruction  following  the  2023/2024-armed conflict between  Hezbollah and Israel. The disbursement mechanism of the UN run Lebanon  Humanitarian Fund (LHF) is fast, efficient and effective because it works with pre-assessed organizations in pre-assessed sectors and geographical l ocations. The fund therefore remains one of the preferred partners in the humanitarian response.   


JOR – Jordan INGO Forum (JIF) via NRC (host organisation)

The Jordan INGO Forum (JIF) plays a crucial role in coordinating the efforts of  international NGOs supporting Syrian refugees in Jordan. Recognizing its importance, Switzerland, EU and other donors provide support to JIF to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the refugee response. This is particularly vital amid shrinking humanitarian resources and shifting regional dynamics, as JIF continues to address refugees' needs, strengthen resilience, and promote durable solutions.

2025 Additional Allocation to WFP Country Strategic Plan, Palestine

The World Food Programme (WFP) is one of Switzerland’s key multilateral partners, recognized for its unique dual mandate in the areas of food security and nutrition. SDC reinforces the WFP emergency response in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) through a contribution to the WFP Country Specific Plan (CSP) for Palestine. The contribution is part of the Federal Council’s decision from 21 May 2025 to grant CHF 9 million to humanitarian organizations in the OPT.


RCA, OCHA / Humanitarian Fund 2025-2026

La Suisse maintient son soutien au Fonds humanitaire des Nations Unies en République centrafricaine (RCA) en 2025-2026. Cette contribution valide la pertinence de cet instrument flexible et efficient qui permet de financer une réponse coordonnée aux besoins humanitaires prioritaires des populations civiles dans le besoin. En affectant 30% de ses ressources aux organisations non gouvernementales centrafricaines, le Fonds humanitaire permet de renforcer la résilience et les capacités locales.

Extraordinary Additional Allocation of SDC Funding (Asia-Americas Division) in 2025 to ICRC Operations in Myanmar, Colombia, Haiti

SDC funding to ICRC operations allows the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises.

Gérer les Risques et les Ressources dans la Région Sud (GÉRER-SUD)

Le Sud d’Haïti est fortement vulnérable aux aléas naturels. Le projet appuiera cinq communes à identifier les risques, à s’y préparer et à y répondre. Il renforcera la gouvernance locale des risques, soutiendra une gestion plus durable des ressources naturelles (sols et eaux) et améliorera les systèmes agricoles, d’eau, d’hygiène et d’assainissement. Une attention particulière sera accordée à la participation des femmes aux espaces décisionnels.

UNRWA Contribution 2025

 UNRWA contributes to stability in the Middle East.  It provides access to basic services (health, education), relief and social protection, as well as humanitarian assistance for 5.9 million Palestine refugees in the region. Switzerland’s contribution for 2025 is earmarked for the organisation’s programmes in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. It also supports UNRWA’s ongoing implementation of the recommendations of the Colonna report. The contribution is based on the Federal Council’s decision of 21 May 2025.


Annual membership contribution to the Multilateral Organisation Performance Assessment Network (MOPAN) for the period 2025-2026

MOPAN, that was co-founded by Switzerland, contributes to a more effective multilateral system, which is a Swiss priority, as outlined in its International Cooperation Strategy 2025-2028. It is the only institution offering regular independent performance assessments of major multilateral organisations (MOs). MOPAN assessments support Switzerland in effectively steering the MOs. They also reduce the individual review burden of Member States and donors of MOs.


SRK Beitrag für Nothilfemassnahmen des SRK international

Politische Fragilität und Klimawandel führen weltweit dazu, dass humanitäre Nothilfe zunehmend dringender und häufiger benötigt werden. Mit dem jährlichen DEZA-Beitrag an das Schweizerische Rote Kreuz (SRK) wird dieses befähigt, in Not- und Katastrophenfällen weltweit mit humanitären Einsätzen im Rahmen der Soforthilfe rasch reagieren zu können, ohne den Eingang von Spenden abwarten zu müssen.
