In Kosovo la corruzione è onnipresente in seno alle istituzioni statali e contribuisce alla perdita di fiducia dei cittadini nei confronti del sistema. La DSC sostiene un progetto che mira a ovviare a questo fenomeno lottando a favore della trasparenza delle istituzioni e incitando i cittadini a denunciare le pratiche scorrette.

Soutien au Dispositif National de Prévention et de Gestion des Catastrophes et Crises Alimentaires au Niger (DNPGCCA) – Phase 5

Au Niger, plus de 3 millions de personnes sont affectées chaque année par l'insécurité alimentaire et nutritionnelle. Ces crises entrainent les ménages dans un cercle vicieux de pauvreté et de vulnérabilité. Pour faire face à ce défi, les autorités du Niger ont créé un dispositif national de prévention et de gestion des catastrophes et crises alimentaires. La Suisse accompagne ce Dispositif afin de soutenir durablement la sécurité alimentaire des populations les plus vulnérables.

Toda la régión está experimentando vulnerabilidad las que pueden causar catástrofes cuya magnitud limitada en la myoría de los casos, no justifica la activacíon de una respuesta internacional, perso todavía puede causar cictimas y daños considerables. En la misma manera los fenómenos geoffisicos como terremotos, tsunamis, erupciones volcánicas, etc., afectan la región.

A través de pegueñas contribuciones Suiza se manifiesta como un socio de confianza para el fortalecimiento de su red y al mismo tiempo aumentar su visibilidad.

Ecuador, SET, Emergency Response Earthquake

An earthquake of the magnitude of 7.8 (Richter scale) hit Northern Ecuador at 18:58 local time, Saturday 16 April 2016. The earthquake caused widespread damage, collapsing structures within hundreds of kilomentres from the epicenter. As of 17 April, 272 deaths and over 1’500 people injured were reported. Swiss Humanitarian Aid (SHA) has taken the decision to deploy the “Grupo de Intervencion y Apoyo Rapido” (GIAR) followed by a SET, in order to support the Swiss Embassy in Quito and conduct a  needs-based assessment.

ELECT (Enhancing Legal and Electoral Capacity for Tomorrow) aims at strengthening the Afghan electoral system with a focus on its three main institutions: the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), the Independent Electoral Complaint Commission (IECC) as well as the Media Commission (MC). ELECT assists these institutions in holding the 2014/2015 Afghan elections (presidential, provincial councils in 2014 and parliamentary in 2015).

VSF-CH, Emergency nutrition and livestock intervention in Siti Zone

The failure of two consecutive rains, amplified by the El Nino phenomenon, has had devastationg effects on the mostly agro-pastoalist population of Ethiopia and dramatically increades the number of people in need of relief assistance (e.g. food, water). Siti Zone/Somalia region has been one of the most severley affected with only a limited set of responses. By supporting VSF-CH, Switzerland will contribute to improve the nutritional status and early recovery of the affected population.

The Somalia Humanitarian Fund (SHF) is a pooled-fund managed by the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) with UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) as administrative agent. With this contribution, Switzerland will ensure that women, men and children affected by the drought in Somaliland and Puntland as well as displacement in South Central Somalia receive needs based, targeted and appropriate life-saving assistance.

Strengthening the legislative in Africa through an institutional partnership with AWEPA

A travers un partenariat institutionnel avec AWEPA, la DDC contribue à promouvoir la paix et la stabilité dans les Grands Lacs en renforçant les capacités des institutions législatives et en soutenant les échanges entre parlementaires de la région, européens et suisses. Le Forum des parlementaires de la CIRGL[1], qui sert de pont avec les parlements nationaux dans la mise en œuvre, manque encore de capacités. Ce projet contribue au renforcement du Forum et à la mise en œuvre du Pacte[2] et permet une promotion de la bonne gouvernance au plus haut niveau.  

[1] Conférence Internationale pour la région des Grands Lacs, mis en place en 2000 par 11 pays de la région pour la médiation, la prévention et le règlement des conflits. 

[2] Pacte pour la paix, la sécurité, la stabilité et le développement signé par les 11 pays membres de la CIRGL.

Improving Livelihoods of Rural Communities (ILRC) – Bridging Phase

The people living in the rural areas of the Central Highlands are particularly vulnerable to recurrent natural hazards. Widespread poverty, weak institutions and scarce public services characterize the region. The ILRC project strives to improve the living conditions of poor families in remote rural communities through sustainable water and land management, economic development and strengthening of local governance institutions. This final phase will capitalize on experiences and focus on the sustainability of interventions.

Civil Society and Human Rights Organization (CSHRO) (previous Civil Society and Human Rights Network - CSHRN)

Despite significant achievements, Afghan men, women and children continue facing important human rights violations in their daily life. As an umbrella organization, the Civil Society Human Rights Organization (CSHRO) coordinates 160 human rights organizations working for human rights advocacy as well as for improved government`s accountability to the needs of the Afghan people.

ACF: Integrated approach to address malnutrition through improved nutrition, health, mental health and care practices, Rakhine State

01.04.2016 - 28.02.2017

This second phase of the project will continue contributing to the reduction of child and Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLW) malnutrition, mortality and morbidity. It aims at addressing immediate nutrition needs and the underlying determinants of under-nutrition – inadequate maternal and child care practices; mental health issues; willingness/capacity of the Ministry of Health. It will benefit more than 11,000 Severe Acute Malnourished (SAM) children and over 2,600 Acute Malnourished Pregnant and Lactating Women.
