Global: Climate Action Accelerator, Core Contribution

The Climate Action Accelerator (CAA) is a Geneva-based non-profit initiative which supports the humanitarian sector in its efforts to reduce carbon footprint and to contribute to global climate goals. CAA supports partners both technically and strategically in the transformation of policies and practices. By empowering systemic actors, it aims at creating a positive domino effect towards a humanitarian sector with low carbon, sustainable and resilient responses.

Additional Allocation of SDC Funding (Africa Division) in 2025 to ICRC Operations in DRC, Chad, Sudan, South Sudan, Mozambique

SDC funding to ICRC operations allows the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises.

2025 Additional allocation to WFP Country Strategic Plan South Sudan

Since April 2023, the ongoing conflict in Sudan has caused a humanitarian catastrophe of massive magnitude within the country. It has also deeply affected the neighbouring countries, in particular the most fragile ones such as Chad, South Sudan and the Central African Republic, which were already facing levels of severe food insecurity. With no end in sight to the conflict, Swiss additional funding supports WFP operations in Sudan and in the region to deliver much needed life-saving food and nutrition assistance.

International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) Core contribution 2025

CGIAR is a global partnership for agricultural research for a food-secure future. Its science is dedicated to poverty reduction, food and nutrition security, ecosystems management, climate adaptation and mitigation and gender equality and social inclusion. CGIAR has a singular role in providing global public goods and innovations through high-quality research. Switzerland is a founding member of CGIAR, represented in its strategic decision-making body and Swiss scientists and institutions are involved in CGIAR-led research programmes.


Swiss contribution to multilateral peace-building – Phase 3 (2025-2026)

In line with Switzerland’s foreign policy goal of preventing conflicts and fostering peaceful development, the Peacebuilding Fund offers the United Nations a flexible tool to allocate resources across agencies for peacebuilding and development efforts aimed at reducing existing tensions or averting future crises. Switzerland’s support for the Fund is essential to complement its well-established role in promoting peace and development in fragile settings.

oPt ICRC Operation Appeals 2025: Additional Allocation 2025 H-Cash

Funding to ICRC’s operations allows the ICRC to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises. The contribution is part of the Federal Council’s decision from 26 November 2025 to grant CHF 23 million to support the “Gaza Peace Plan” of the United States.


2025 Additional Allocation to UNHCR Operations in Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan

SDC funding to UNHCR operations allows the UN Refugee Agency to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance to refugees and internally displaced people in life-threatening situations and underfunded emergencies. Switzerland provides an additional contribution of CHF 5’000’000 in 2025 to support UNHCR operations in Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan.


Support the IDB Group’s agenda on gender and diversity in Latin America and the Caribbean

Gender and diversity inequalities (Indigenous Peoples, Afro-descendants, Persons with Disabilities, and LBGTQ+ communities) remain significant challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean, impacting economic development, social cohesion, and access to services. Switzerland advances the Inter-American Development Bank Group’s agenda on gender and diversity in its programs by financing an experienced position in the Office of the Special Advisor on Gender and Diversity.


FSD Mine and UXO clearance in Kharkiv and Kherson Oblasts (MUCKKO)

This phase 02 of the project of Fondation suisse de déminage (FSD) deploys the full range of mine action activities, to identify the threat of contamination, clear unexploded ordnance and mines, and educate the population to the risks. It resorts to Swiss innovation, mechanical demining machines and dogs. It builds on phase 01, gaining scale in both Kharkiv and Kherson regions and adding a strong component of building local capacity through mentorship of a Ukrainian NGO.


GAIN Combating Malnutrition in Rwanda through Sustainable Food Systems (GAIN CoMa SFS)

According to the newly approved National Strategy of Transformation - NST2 (2024–2029), reducing stunting and malnutrition comes among the top five priorities of the government of Rwanda (GoR) with an ambitious target of reducing child stunting from 33% to 15% by 2029. Thus, Switzerland’ support to GAIN and the collaboration with different actors across the health and food sectors: GoR, private sector and farmers assures stimulating production, access, affordability and consumption of desirable nutritious and safe foods.
