Contact the responsible Swiss representation or consulate when you want to register or unregister as a resident, when you need a new passport, have moved or wish to apply for citizenship. Swiss citizens who get into difficulties abroad, also can ask for advice and help from the Swiss representative.

The magazine for the Swiss Abroad appears six times a year and provides information about what is happening at home and the activities of Swiss associations abroad. It also answers administrative questions.

Online desk FDFA

Using the FDFA’s online consular services while abroad.

The relevant Swiss representation abroad can answer any questions concerning the FDFA’s online desk.

Swiss clubs provide opportunities to exchange views with other people. At events connected with Switzerland (e.g. the national day on 1 August) it is possible to meet some of your fellow Swiss neighbours. Such meetings are a good opportunity to share experiences in the country of posting and learn useful information.

Swiss Society of New Zealand

Established in 1935, the Swiss Society is the umbrella organization comprising the four regional Swiss Clubs in Auckland, Hamilton, Taranaki and Wellington (yet not Christchurch). It publishes the bi-monthly Helvetia Magazine, the official magazine of the New Zealand Swiss Society. Every member of the Swiss clubs in Auckland, Hamilton, Taranaki and Wellington is automatically a member of the Swiss Society as well. It is also possible to join the Swiss Society without being member of one of its regional clubs (contact form).
