Security situation in the region

Dear Swiss nationals,

The FDFA now advises against tourist and non-essential travel to Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Restrictions to air traffic cannot be ruled out. Airspace is or may be closed at short notice.

Please contact your travel provider directly to discuss the options available to you. Once the airspace reopens, the travel agency will assist you with rebookings, extensions of hotel stays, etc., as well as with planning your return journey.

If you have arranged your trip independently, you must contact the airline directly regarding flight options and tickets.

In the meantime, please follow the instructions issued by the local authorities. They provide information on security measures, warn the population and, if necessary, carry out evacuations.
