Ambassador Schmid congratulated Mr. Dacic on his appointment as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Both interlocutors stressed the significance of the excellent bilateral relations between Switzerland and Serbia. Switzerland is among the most important direct foreign investors and Swiss companies employ more than 12’000 people in Serbia. Since more than 30 years Switzerland supports the reform path of Serbia, and under the current Cooperation program 2022-2025, economic development and employment, democratic governance and climate change related issues will remain high on the agenda. Minister Dacic highlighted the significant bilateral cooperation in the fields of dual education and digitalization and the strong links created by the important Serbian diaspora in Switzerland. Further topics discussed included issues of regional and European integration and the relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
