The "strategic sourcing" of goods and services coming from developing countries will be the "mirror effect" of the products and services offered. The Advisory Centre on WTO Law (ACWL) was established in 2001 with the goal of enabling developing countries, and in particular least developed countries (LDCs), to better understand their rights and obligations in the World Trade Organisation (WTO), and to provide them with equal opportunities to defend their interests in the WTO dispute settlement proceedings. ACWL provides three types of services to this end: legal advice on WTO law, support in dispute settlement proceedings and legal training.

The Indonesian Bus Rapid Transit Corridor Development Project (INDOBUS) managed by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) assists Indonesian municipalities in developing bus rapid transit corridors as a backbone for sustainable urban mobility systems. It entails technical assistance and capacity-building for cities and ministries to foster the implementation of bus based mass public transport in medium-sized cities.

SECO is partnering with the World Bank to implement the Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance (DRFI) Program to support primarily SECO priority countries in building their financial resilience to natural disasters.
