Switzerland’s support to the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) aims at maximizing the impact and effectiveness of international development co-operation towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in low- and middle-income countries, ensuring that no one is left behind. Through knowledge sharing, joint learning and standard setting, the DAC contributes to enhance the coordination and coherence of international co-operation.
Gender Equality Strategic Partnerships

The goal of the Gender Equality Strategic Partnerships is to support influential global and regional organisations promoting gender equality and women’s rights in the SDC’s three thematic priorities: women’s political participation, women’s economic empowerment, and the elimination of gender-based violence (GBV). International Land Coalition (ILC), Core contribution

Equitable land rights are key to sustainable and resilient food systems. The International Land Coa-lition (ILC) is a global network of organisations working on people centred land governance in over 85 countries. ILC's vision is a world where everyone has secure access to land and natural resources. ILC, including through its 35 national land coalitions, promotes many Swiss interests, such as peace-ful and democratic societies, and addresses growing inequalities – including gender inequalities.

This contribution aims at supporting the Regional Refugee Response Plan and Government of Egypt’s combined efforts to respond to the arrival of refugees in the aftermath of the outbreak of conflict on the 15.4.2023 in Sudan. UNHCR’s emergency response focuses on the identification and reception of the most vulnerable new arrivals at prioritized points of entry, with the provision of life-saving support and specialized protection services.

SDC funding to ICRC operations allows the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises.
Sudan, IFRC, Center of Competence for Humanitarian Negotiation (CCHN), operational plan 2025 – 2026

Following the outbreak of armed conflict in Sudan on 15 April 2023, the CCHN organized emergency ad hoc support for Sudan consisting of weekly sessions and online capacity building workshops dedicated for staff expecting to surge into Sudan. As armed conflict persists in Sudan, it is vital to address the needs on the ground to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian responses. The initiatives organized by the CCHN provide a foundational framework for a robust support mechanism aimed at building capacities within the humanitarian community.

The mission is to ensure the search and location of buried victims after earthquakes during emergency relief operations (as members of the Swiss Rescue and/or an Emergency Response Team (SET-Modul Search).

Tchad-MSF Ensuring access to healthcare

This contribution aims to strengthen the emergency response for refugees and returnees fleeing the conflict in Sudan, as well as vulnerable host communities in Eastern Chad. By ensuring access to quality healthcare and providing essential water, sanitation, and hygiene services in Adré and Aboutengué/Ourang camps, it seeks to reduce disease and mortality while improving living conditions and resilience.
