SUD, OCHA Humanitarian Fund SHF Nachtragskredit

Over 30 million people in Sudan are in need of humanitarian aid. The Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF) is one of the UN’s country-based pooled funds, dedicated to saving lives and protecting people in need by supporting a coordinated and principled humanitarian response. It enables a diverse range of frontline partner organizations to respond swiftly and effectively to humanitarian needs outlined in the Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP) and to critical emergencies.


WFP Add. Contrib. SUD Crisis NK, SUD, SSD, Chad, CAR

Since April 2023, the ongoing conflict in Sudan has caused a humanitarian catastrophe of massive magnitude within the country. It has also deeply affected the neighbouring countries, in particular the most fragile ones such as Chad, South Sudan and the Central African Republic, which were already facing levels of severe food insecurity. With no end in sight to the conflict, Swiss additional funding supports WFP operations in Sudan and in the region to deliver much needed life-saving food and nutrition assistance.


ComBaCaL+: Community Based Chronic Care Lesotho Plus

ComBaCaL+ is building on the scientific proof of concept that demonstrated how prevention and care tasks of uncomplicated hypertension and diabetes can be effectively shifted to Community Health Workers (CHWs). Initially designed as a transformative research project, this phase aims at bringing these groundbreaking results, emerging from Swiss excellence in research, towards impact at scale, including the preparation of the Lesotho prototype to be replicated in other contexts.


WHO, Medical Evacuation and Treat-ment of Children from Gaza in Jordan

With this project, Switzerland, in partnership with WHO, supports medical evacuations and the provison of medical care for children from Gaza under King Abdullah II’s “Royal Initiative for the Medical Treatment of Children”. Children with severe conditions that cannot be treated in Gaza will receive holistic medical and psychosocial support in Jordan. The contribution is part of the Federal Council’s decision from 26 November 2025 to grant CHF 23 million to support the “Gaza Peace Plan” of the United States.


RESOLVE – Resilient Economies and Sustainable Livelihoods for Empowerment In Yemen

The SDC Cooperation Programme for Yemen aims to reduce aid dependency by strengthening resilience and supporting sustainable livelihoods. This project will help drive that transition by addressing severe food insecurity and unlocking local agricultural potential. It will promote innovative, inclusive models for small and micro agribusinesses and strengthen the governance framework as well as public service delivery.


SAWA II – Partnership for Productive Enterprises

This project supports the recovery of small and medium enterprises to sustain production and retain or create jobs. Amid a fragile context marked by trade and movement restrictions, low productivity, and weak institutions, the programme delivers targeted assistance – technical, digital, legal, and financial – to restore business operations and expand market linkages. By combining immediate recovery support with longerterm strengthening of value chains, it contributes to positioning the private sector as a driver of recovery.

After more than 31 months of war, Sudan faces the world’s largest humanitarian and displacement crisis. Over 30 million people need assistance, and 12 million have been forcibly displaced, including 4.3 million across borders - mainly to Egypt, Chad, and South Sudan. Inside Sudan, bureaucratic hurdles, financial collapse, market disruptions, and insecurity hinder aid efforts. Through its Regional Response Plan 2026 - Sudan, NRC aims to assist over 296,280 conflict-affected people, prioritizing those with the most severe needs.


PEGASE: Support to the Palestinian Authority for the East Jerusalem Hospitals (EJH)

This project sustains care in the East Jerusalem Hospitals by helping the Palestinian Authority clear overdue referral bills – easing fiscal pressure and reinforcing support for a two-state solution. Channelled through the Mécanisme Palestino-Européen de Gestion de l’Aide Socio-Économique, it strengthens Switzerland’s role in the policy/reform dialogue. The contribution is part of the Federal Council’s decision from 26 November 2025 to grant CHF 23 million to support the ‘Gaza Peace Plan’ of the United States.


UNHCR Add. Contribution Sudan Crisis NK, SUD, SSD, Chad, EGY

The Sudan conflict has become the world’s largest displacement and protection emergency. Since April 2023, nearly 7.3 million Sudanese remain displaced within Sudan and over 4.2 million across borders into seven host countries1. SDC supports UNHCR life-saving response efforts inside Sudan and across South Sudan, Egypt and Chad to help prevent further loss of life and uphold the safety and dignity of people affected by the conflict.


Projet d'appui à la protection de communautés rurales vulnérables de la Grand'Anse

La Grand’Anse est très exposée aux aléas naturels. L’insécurité alimentaire aigue, la maltraitance d’enfants et la violence affectent ses populations vulnérables. Le projet mobilisera les communautés et autorités locales pour protéger les enfants et les femmes. Il appuiera les communautés pour mettre en oeuvre des mesures d’adaptation aux risques naturels, créera des opportunités économiques, en particulier pour les femmes, et renforcera les cantines scolaires pour les enfants.


Contribution to the humanitarian protection cluster response in the Occupied Palestinian Territory

Switzerland contributes to the OHCHR-led humanitarian protection cluster response in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Considering the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the volatile security situation in the West Bank, strengthened coordination of protection actors, scaled up community-based protection mechanisms and continuous protection monitoring are key elements for an enhanced centrality of protection in humanitarian action.


EGY, SC 2025/26 Emerg. Resp. SUD Crisis, NK

Aswan and Greater Cairo have seen a sharp rise in displaced Sudanese arrivals, including unaccompanied children, placing heavy pressure on local services. This project delivers rapid, lifesaving and integrated services across child protection, mental health, education, and livelihoods while strengthening community-based organizations. Its goal is to meet urgent needs, reduce protection risks, and bolster the safety, dignity, and resilience of displaced Sudanese and host communities.
