Swiss Chalet at Houhai

The Swiss Chalet in a Chinese-style octagonal pavilion at Houhai, Beijing

Switzerland is world-renowned for its winter sports culture. The Swiss Chalet is a pop-up bar that brings the essence of Swiss alpine winter to Beijing. Located at the Houhai Lake, one of the most ideal natural ice rinks in Beijing, the pop-up bar will serve as a gateway to Switzerland’s winter culture, tourism, and innovation, kickstarting the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and China in 2025.

Swiss photographer Henry Leutwyler's exhibition PORTRAITS EN SILENCE opened on March 13 at Parts Unknown Gallery in Suzhou. On the opening day, the Deputy Consul General of Switzerland in Shanghai Istvan Kocsis gave a warm welcome speech in the presence of the artist. A total of 41 enchanting photographs will be on display from March 14 to April 30.

On August 6th 2024, the Embassy of Switzerland celebrates the 50th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the Embassy complex on this site, which was completed in 1976. Prior to the move, the Embassy was located in a traditional courtyard in Nanheyan. This exhibition shows historical photographs of the Nanheyan period, the construction and opening of the current building, as well as some pictures of the Embassy today.
