The Hong Kong Book Fair is one of the most anticipated, visited and exciting events in Hong Kong. HK Lesbian and Gay Film Festival
"Beyond biological differences, what cultural components, what social obligations are assigned to our gender?" Geneva-born director Stéphane Riethauser spent his whole childhood perpetuating the 'macho' masculinity expected of a heterosexual male. Only after stepping out as gay did he recognise the harmful effects of this gender stereotype on women and the LGBTQ+ community. In this tragi-comic double autobiography, Riethauser compares his journey in activism with the life struggle of his extravagant grandmother as an ambitious and eccentric woman in the 1920s. A stylish and fascinating piece using private archive footage to capture the nuances of gender identity in a patriarchal environment.

Having debuted at age 11 as a prodigy under Zubin Mehta with the New York Philharmonic, violinist Midori has since made an impressive career of over 30 years collaborating with world-class conductors and musicians. Not only has she established and sustained her position as one of the world’s greatest musicians, but she has also gained tremendous respect for her efforts in community engagement, nurturing new talents and promoting classical music to the underprivileged.

48th Hong Kong Arts Festival
Dixit was created for the stage by director Marc Hollogne to mark both the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne by its choreographer Maurice Béjart, and the 10th anniversary of his death.

Maestro Heinz Holliger, the legendary world-class oboist, is also a conductor and composer who devotes himself to preserving classical repertoire while exploring new performance techniques. These are values also held by the Kammerorchester Basel (Basel Chamber Orchestra), which has been searching for new ways of musical interpretation with both historical and modern instruments.
