'Vigyan Samagam' is a mega science exhibition presented by the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the Indian Departments of Atomic Energy and of Science and Technology. The exhibition explores the origins of the universe, the nature of the particles which constitute our bodies, and the power of fundamental science. Centered on CERN’s exhibition ‘Accelerating Science’, it will also showcase 7 mega science projects in which India is a partner.
Dreaming in the Light, an art soirée at the Swiss Embassy, brings together a rare aesthetic experience for all senses: Swiss light designer and projection artist Gerry Hofstetter, for the first time ever in India, will create customized motifs on the façade of the Embassy building and gardens. In presenting the work, he will collaborate with Indian contemporary dancer and choreographer Diya Naidu, and music composer Nikhil Naagraj. Together, the light projections, the music and the dance are to create a unique environment for an immersive and exciting night walk through the Embassy’s surroundings.

On the occasion of the India Art Fair 2018 and 70 Years of Swiss-Indian Friendship, the Embassy of Switzerland will host three site-specific installations to celebrate the Swiss-Indian Art Collective, featuring Katja Loher, Sumakshi Singh and Satish Gupta. In a beautiful and magical approach, whereby technology and spirituality merge to create a new terrestrial ground, the artists raise ecological awareness.

Dr. Barbara Beckett, Professor of Conservation and Restoration of Architecture and Furnishing at the University of Applied Sciences, Bern, Switzerland, will be in conversation with Mr Vikas Dilawari of Vikas Dilawari Architects. In a candid conversation on the 'Life of Conservation', they will discuss art and architecture in changing times. This conversation takes place within the 'Urban Design and Architecture' section of the festival.

“Kirti Mandir” was constructed in Vadodara by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III in 1936. The central hall of this edifice contains several impressive murals painted by the renowned artist of the Bengal School of Art, Nandalal Bose. Experts from Switzerland and India will deliver talks (open for public) and organise practical demonstrations in the fields of conservation of wall paintings on the site (entry by invitation only).
