The Iraqi government’s High National Health and Safety Committee announced a total curfew for Eid al-Adha holiday. The curfew will be in place from 30 July 2020 until 9 August 2020.
The Kurdistan Regional Government Ministry of Interior announced on 3 August 2020 new region-wide measures to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus. The measures will take effect on 5 August 2020 at midnight. In addition, a complete ban on all traffic between the Kurdistan Region and other Iraqi provinces will be in place until 12 August 2020. Inter-provincial traffic will continue to be banned and traffic is only allowed through the issue of a permit, obtainable through an application on the interior ministry website. On 23 July 2020, Baghdad International Airport resumed international commercial flights following their suspension mid-March. The airports of Erbil and Sulaimaniya operate international commercial flights since 1 August 2020. According to the Swiss Federal Office for Public Health, a mandatory quarantine is imposed to individuals entering Switzerland from certain countries, including Iraq. A negative test result does not exempt you from this requirement. More information, BAG
The issuance of Schengen visas remains suspended until further notice. National visas (employment, family reunion as well as education and training purposes) can be processed on a case by case basis, in accordance with the directive 323.7-5040/3 of 8 June 2020 of the State Secretariat for Migration.
