The FDFA now advises against tourist and non-essential travel to Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman. Restrictions to air traffic cannot be ruled out. Airspace is or may be closed at short notice.
Please contact your travel provider directly to discuss the options available to you. Once the airspace reopens, the travel agency will assist you with rebookings, extensions of hotel stays, etc., as well as with planning your return journey.
If you have arranged your trip independently, you must contact the airline directly regarding flight options and tickets.
In the meantime, please follow the instructions issued by the local authorities. They provide information on security measures, warn the population and, if necessary, carry out evacuations.
The Embassy of Switzerland to Oman and Yemen has been informed by the Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman that, effective Sunday, March 15th 2026, an Oman Air counter will be operational at the Omani land border crossings with the United Arab Emirates (Khatm Al Shikla Al Wajajah and Khatm Malaha) to facilitate the booking of travel tickets with Oman Air to various international destinations.

Tous les services consulaires ainsi que les visas de long séjour sont fournis par l'Ambassade de Suisse en Arabie Saoudite.
Les visas Schengen de courte durée pour la Suisse sont délivrés par le Centre commun de demande de visa du VFS pour l'ambassade des Pays-Bas à Mascate, Oman.
