The ACT project calls on civil society organizations (CSOs) and local self-government units (LGUs) to create joint initiatives that will result in innovative mechanisms and tools for public participation in decision-making processes.

The announced calls refer to:

  1. Greater participation of citizens at the local level in decision-making processes and definition and adoption of regulations for involving citizens in the creation and implementation of public policies.
  2. Development of innovative mechanisms and tools for greater citizen participation in decision-making processes to overcome the consequences of the corona virus.

The deadline for submitting project proposals is May 14, 2021.

Basic information on this call:

  • Target group: civil society organizations and local self-government units 
  • Amount according to the project proposal: up to 1,400,000.00 RSD
  • Duration of individual contracts: 12 months 
  • Estimated number of CSO and LGU partnerships to be supported in both calls: up to 26

The Government of Switzerland, through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, has allocated EUR 5.37M for the implementation of the first phase of the project For an Active Civil Society Together - ACT, running until the end of 2023. The ACT Project is implemented by Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation and Civic Initiatives.
