The Trade Office of Swiss Industries facilitates and promotes economic, cultural, educational, scientific and tourism exchanges between Switzerland and Taiwan. It also provides practical assistance to Swiss nationals in Taiwan.

Outbreak of a new coronavirus

From 19 March 2020, all foreign nationals, including Swiss citizens, are banned from entering Taiwan. Only foreign nationals who hold a valid Taiwanese residence permit are allowed to enter Taiwan but are subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine.

On 13 March 2020, the Federal Council has advised that non-essential travel abroad is to be avoided until further notice. Nonetheless if you travel abroad, please register your travel on the "Travel Admin App" of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs FDFA.

Since 6 July 2020, persons entering Switzerland from certain countries and regions must remain in quarantine for ten days. Furthermore, people arriving in Switzerland from countries or regions with a high risk of infection must present a valid proof of a negative PCR test result that has been conducted no more than 72 hours before arrival. Additionally, all persons arriving by air even from a country that is not considered high risk must show a negative PCR test result no more than 72 hours old before arrival. The negative PCR test must be presented upon boarding the airplane. For further information, please consult the webpage of the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH which is updated regularly.
