This summer, the Embassy of Switzerland invited nine artists from Switzerland to pursue residencies in China as part of the CH><CN Studios program. We also invited seven Chinese artists with international study or work experience to participate. As a major outcome of the Swiss Embassy’s “CH><CN Studio” project, Breakdown Playlist brings together the latest works of these 16 emerging artists from both countries.
The pandemic and its subsequent global crisis has taught us that the competitiveness of nations is now more important than ever. In the midst of a de-globalization process, with trade conflicts and trade wars, and restrictions to the movement of people, national policies are going to play a fundamental role in the prosperity of people.
Prof. Arturo Bris of the IMD Business School will present pm July 22th at 6pm the 2020 IMD World Competitiveness Ranking, the reasons for Hong Kong’s drop in the ranking and its meaning for the future. Possible solutions to the current global issues through the lens of the competitiveness model will be discussed.
Swiss innovation is known world-wide! This year the Consulate is proud to participate in the Entrepreneur Day in Hong Kong, which has been running into its 12th edition. AVRE and Glice, two Swiss start-ups will be teaming up with the Consulate to promote Swiss innovation.

Dixit was created for the stage by director Marc Hollogne to mark both the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne by its choreographer Maurice Béjart, and the 10th anniversary of his death.

Maestro Heinz Holliger, the legendary world-class oboist, is also a conductor and composer who devotes himself to preserving classical repertoire while exploring new performance techniques. These are values also held by the Kammerorchester Basel (Basel Chamber Orchestra), which has been searching for new ways of musical interpretation with both historical and modern instruments.

In 2010, the Swiss entrepreneur Marco Simeoni created the Race for Water Foundation to fight against plastic pollution in the oceans. Committed to a five year Odyssey (2017-2021), the ambassador vessel of the Foundation is going around the world to raise awareness about the impact of plastic waste on the marine environment and propose local solutions to this global problem, thanks to a machine which transforms plastic waste into electric energy: the BIOGREEN. A unique ambassador for energy transition, the Race for Water vessel is propelled solely by renewable energies thanks to its solar panels, its traction kite and its chain of hydrogen production and storage.
