Travelling to Switzerland

On June 23, 2021, the Federal Council decided to lift the entry restrictions for persons from third countries who are vaccinated. For more information about travelling to Switzerland from Singapore, consult the webpage of the State Secretariat for Migration SEM or contact the embassy. The regular visa requirements apply again, please visit for submission the website of VFS Global.

Entry into Switzerland from Singapore

To see what rules and procedures apply to your particular situation when entering Switzerland, please consult the website Travelcheck. All travelers must present a completed entry form of the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH. This applies regardless of your vaccination status, the country you are travelling from and the form of transport.

Swiss COVID-19 Certificate

Your vaccination certificate issued in Singapore can under certain conditions be transferred into the Swiss COVID certificate. To obtain a certificate, please contact the cantonal authorities in your canton of residence or where you are temporarily staying. There is at least one point of contact in each canton. You can find the relevant information on the canton’s website.

Transit through Singapore

Changi Airport allows transit with authorised airlines. Transit lanes are specifically granted airline-by-airline and are limited in scope. Travellers wishing to transit through Changi Airport are encouraged to contact their chosen airlines directly to ensure they are able to complete their full journey.

Entry into Singapore for Swiss short-term visitors

With few exceptions, short-term visitors are not allowed to enter Singapore.

Entry into Singapore for Swiss citizens residing in Singapore

From 12 October 2021, 23h59,  all fully vaccinated traveler travelling from Switzerland and several other countries, will be able to opt out of the Stay-Home-Notice (SHN) at the SHN Dedicated Facilities (SDF) and serve their 7-day SHN at their respective places of residence (e.g. residential address). This SHN opt-out is attached to certain conditions that can be found on the website of the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority ICA

All other travellers must continue to serve the SHN in a dedicated facility and the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is restricting the entry/re-entry of work pass holders, including their dependents, into Singapore. All work pass holders are required to obtain the MOM’s approval before they commence their journey to Singapore. Moreover, long-term pass holders (this includes holders of a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP), a Student’s Pass (STP), and those with an In-Principle Approval (IPA) for a Long-Term Pass) who are planning to enter Singapore must obtain the permission of the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority before they commence their journey to Singapore.

As the list of countries will be updated from time to time, all travellers are invited to consult the website of the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority and work pass holders the Ministry of Manpower before traveling to Singapore for binding information.

Register the Swiss Travel Admin App on your smartphone so that you can be contacted by the relevant Swiss embassy in an emergency.
