The Solomon Islands benefit from Switzerland’s involvement in regional projects, particularly in the area of climate change. For example, the Pacific Climate Change Roundtable, which is carried out with the partner organisation the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environmental Programme (SPREP).

Diplomatic relations were established between Switzerland and the Solomon Islands with the signing of a “Joint Communiqué” in Canberra on 19 December 2007.
