The Swiss contribution is an investment in Europe's security, stability and prosperity and is thus in Switzerland's national interests. By making the contribution, Switzerland is also strengthening and deepening bilateral relations with its partner countries and the EU as a whole. By focusing on vocational education and training and on migration, Switzerland can help to address challenges Europe is currently facing – challenges which also affect Switzerland.
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) are jointly responsible for implementing Switzerland's contribution to cohesion. Responsibility for implementing Switzerland's contribution in relation to migration lies with the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM). The Europe Division of the FDFA State Secretariat is responsible for facilitating and supporting European policy.
