The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Didier Burkhalter, is to hold the opening speech at the OSCE Conference on Anti-Semitism. The event is being organised by the Swiss Chairmanship, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and Germany. The Conference on Anti-Semitism dates back to the Berlin Declaration of 29 April 2004, in which the OSCE participating States unequivocally condemned anti-Semitic statements and acts of violence. They also agreed to take measures to be able to combat anti-Semitism more vigorously. This conference is intended to be a forum to discuss the developments that have taken place since the Berlin Declaration ten years ago.
